- What is the difference between livescan fingerprints and print cards?
Livescan fingerprints are captured electronically, via a digital image that can be transmitted electronically; this provides for a faster and more accurate fingerprint collection process. Fieldprint Inc. has the largest network of livescan collection sites in the country as well as the state of Hawaii.
- How do I schedule an appointment to have my fingerprints collected?
Click “Schedule an Appointment” and you will be prompted to create a secure user account. Next, enter the Fieldprint Code that was provided to you by your employer or requesting agency. After entering your Fieldprint Code, you will be prompted to enter all demographic information required by the State of Hawaii. Once this step is complete, you will be able to search for a fingerprinting location and schedule an appointment at a date and time most convenient for you!
- Where can I go to be fingerprinted if I do not live in Hawaii?
Fieldprint Inc. has the largest livescan network across the country, with sites in all 50 states. Simply click “Schedule an Appointment“ to find the most convenient collection site.
- Do I need to schedule an appointment through Fieldprint Inc.?
Yes, an appointment is required to be fingerprinted. Walk-ins are not accepted.
- What personal information do I need to complete to register?
Per Hawaiian law, Fieldprint Inc. must provide the personal information listed below to the HCJDC and the FBI:

- How much does the process cost?
The fingerprint service fee is $8.95, plus any additional state and/or federal submission fees. For Med-QUEST Division (MQD) applicants, please check with your employer for applicable fees.
- What forms of payment are accepted?
MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Visa are accepted.

- What do I need to bring to my fingerprinting appointment?
- Two (2) forms of identification, at least one (1) of which must be a government-issued photo ID

- What if I fail to show up for my appointment, or cancel in less than 24 hours?
If you do not show up for your appointment, or cancel your appointment within less than 24 hours of your scheduled date and time, you will be charged a rescheduling fee.
- What happens if my fingerprints are illegible?
If your fingerprints are illegible, Fieldprint Inc. will contact you to schedule another fingerprint appointment at no additional cost.
- How long does it take to receive results?
Results are available within 14 days.
- How do I obtain the results of my fingerprint-based background check?
Med-QUEST Division (MQD) applicants will receive an email notification when the results are ready to view. Your results will be in the format of a Green Light or Red Light fitness determination. For further information on how to appeal the fitness determination results, please go to

All other applicants, please contact the state agency/division in which you are required to be fingerprinted for results.
- I have been fingerprinted several times in the past. Are you able to use those prints?
No. Any fingerprints that you had collected in the past are not retrievable or transferable from other state or federal agencies.
